Dial 988 to Access the Mental Health Hotline
The new, national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is now active. Anyone can call this number if they are experiencing a mental health crisis. Dialing 988 will provide those seeking mental health care by connecting them directly to a trained mental health professional at the crisis center closest to them, or, if the closest center is too busy, the call will be routed to one of sixteen backup centers around the USA.
